Save Brent’s Lollipops – Click here to sign the petition
School crossing patrols, or lollipop men & women, provide safety for children and parents on their way to school when they have to cross busy roads. Labour-run Brent Council is considering scrapping over half of the school crossing patrols in Brent – cutting them from 47 to only 17.
Liberal Democrats believe the model being used to decide which school gets a crossing patrol and which doesn’t is illogical, uses out of date data and doesn’t take into account circumstances on the ground. Liberal Democrats believe this could endanger young children and their parents and are urging Labour councillors to think again.
